    Who elects the Pope?

    Question #32630. Asked by lorry.

    sequoianoir

Election of the pope is by the college of cardinals meeting in secret conclave in the Sistine Chapel not less than 15 nor more than 18 days after the death of the previous pontiff. The election is by secret {ballot;} Pius XII fixed the electoral majority at two thirds plus one vote.

The sacred college of cardinals of the Holy Roman Church is the electoral college of the papacy. Its members are appointed by the pope.

So the current pope has appointed the cardinals that pick the next one etc. etc.

After each voting session, ballots are burned. If the vote is inconclusive, a chemical substance is added to the paper to produce black smoke. Billowing from the roof of the Vatican Palace, the smoke is a message to the crowds watching in St. Peter's Square that the church is still without a pope.
When the college eventually reaches the final decision, each cardinal lowers a purple canopy over his chair, leaving the elected Pope's canopy folded. The final ballots are burned and their white smoke signals a successful election.

According to the Scriptures, the 'pope', whose OFFICIAL title is 'Lord God the Pope' and whose Crown of State bear the title 'Vicarivs Filii Dei (I am the Son of God)', is elected by Satan through a council wearing scarlet and purple (College of Cardinals and Jesuit Generals) to be head of his (Satan's) 'church', through which will come a one world religion and government. The Book of Revelation also tells us that the Antichrist himself will come from the Vatican. The word 'Vatican' is Latin for 'House of Divination' and is built on the seven hills of Rome on the site of the ruins of the ancient temple of Janus. Revelation tells us that the Antichrist will turn on the Vatican and destroy it when he sets up his throne in Jerusalem. We are told that, upon the total annihilation of the Vatican, the Lord, by using Satan as His instrument, will have avenged the believers in Jesus upon her.
