Why do they have Braille on a drive-up ATM machine?

Because the ATM machines are produced to fill a variety of installation points. Anything from drive-ups to malls to 7-11's, they must meet requirements set by federal and local gov's and, at the same time, you don't want to have the cost of producing and maintaining inventory of 8 million different models. Most differences on the basic models of almost any products is usually only small, and fits within the basic framework of the usual idea.
