Was 'Popcorn' a number one hit in the UK and the USA?

Question #32967. Asked by mochyn. (May 03 03 9:58 PM)

    mk2norwich says:

Not in the UK - 'Popcorn' by Hot Butter only reached number 5.

...This book also indicates US number ones with a small black triangle. The absence of such a symbol against the Hot Butter entry suggests that it was not an American chart-topper either.
