In Greek mythology who is the god of the sun?

It depends on how far you're talking. To start with there was Hyperion, then his son Helios, and then Apollo became commonly known as the god of the sun.

Helios, then Apollo, were the Greek gods of the sun. Apollo was also the Roman god of the sun. Hyperion was actually a Titan, not a god, but was the father of Helios, god of the sun, and Selene, goddess of the moon.
*Interestingly enough, Apollo actually went by the same name in both Roman and Greek mythology, not a usual thing.

Helios, son of Hyperion, is the true god of the Sun, and Apollo was the one who carries the Sun across the sky, which is why he is commonly called the Sun god, though he is not.
