    We have taken many words from different countries, e.g. gingham, ketchup and sarong from Malay. During our colonial period what did the Malay word 'catty' mean?

    		a unit of weight, a little over a pound. I think we get the name for a tea container (caddy) from the same source.

    		well done stew,originally 1.33 pounds,now to fit in with the metric system it is now 500 grams
