I've just read a comment and in it mentions room 101. What is the significance of this room?

Room 101 was a place of punishment in George Orwell's classic work of fiction '1984'. In this room, wrongdoers were confronted by their worst fears. Not so long ago, the BBC were running a television show called 'Room 101', in which each week a celebrity would be invited to consign all his/her pet hates to oblivion (the 'Room 101' of the title). Probably the most memorable (and controversial) programme was the one on which Anne Robinson was that week's invited guest. She chose the Wlsh as one of the things to send to this awful place. An avalanche of mail soon poured into the BBC from angry Welsh people. This is a moment which will forever live in infamy.
