Is it true that what was called fog in London is actually smog?

Question #33647. Asked by django. (May 14 03 10:24 AM)

Yes and no. Smog used to be more common but since the Clean Air Act was introduced in 1956 it is much less common and is now mainly due to exhaust fumes, which are also being reduced.
