    How were the boundaries of the states of the US determined?

    		It actually depends. If you mean modernly, (within the past 50 years) ecologists determine the boundaries. They use special equipment to moniter the US boundaries and how they are changing. If you mean past, the US had many states wanting to join the US. The US constitution only granted the states certain amounts of land. So now, there is a huge highway sign that will tell you if you are about to exit a state.
