If a group of lions is called a pride and a group of crows is called a murder, what is a group of foxes called?
Can anyone explain how the periodic table works? How is it possible that the vertical groups correspond almost exactly to the increasing atomic mass of the elements? For instance, the alkali metals (group 1), alkaline earth metals (group 2) and noble gases (group 8) all have very different properties, yet somehow, if they were all arranged in order by their atomic masses, you would find that they could be arranged in a clear pattern of Group 1, Group 2, Group 8, Group 1, Group 2, Group 8, and so on. Is it just coincidence, or is there a scientific explanation for this?
Can you name rock group Ratt's fifth album? On it is a song called "Heads I Win, Tails You Lose" can you tell me who sings the background vocals on that particular song? Hint: It's not a member of the group.
