What causes the geiger-counter-type clicking sound in my computer when I log on or go to a new website, etc.?

Question #33945. Asked by Mandelbrotset. (May 19 03 7:23 AM)

    Gnomon

    It's a setting in Windows: Start/Settings/Control Panel/Sounds

You should see one 'Complete Navigation'. Change this to None to turn off the click.

If it's coming from your computer's case, than that would be the 'hard drive', which stores your computer's data (programs, your files, etc.)
See: http://computer.howstuffworks.com/hard-disk.htm (what a hard drive is)
and: http://www.howstuffworks.com/question243.htm (churning sound from computer)
