Where was Camelot supposed to be situated?

I always understood it to have been in Glastonbury, Tintagel castle is/was in Cornwall and is the reputed place where Arthur grew up when not with Merlin in wonderful Wales. The ruins of Tintagel still exist I saw something of them on TV not too long ago.
