I agree Jimmy. Could be a question with no right answer. Some books refer to the Eastern Roman or Byzantine Empire as the 'Greek Empire'. If that's what the question has in mind the answer could be Istanbul (Constantinople), except that Istanbul hasn't been a capital since (I think) the 1920s.

Though not still a capital, Istanbul would still be considered a 'modern day' capital, which is usually defined as anything within the 20th century.
