Have had this question in recent trivia nights. The question was asked 'Which airlines are the world's oldest?' The answer was Qantas and KLM. Why there are two answers I'm not sure - maybe they both started together or the exact start dates of both are unclear. OK - just googled - most seem to agree that KLM is the oldest followed by Qantas, then Colombia's Avianca Airlines, Mexicana Air, Finnair, etc. Jun 08 03, 3:24 PM

KLM commenced on 7 October 1919 and QANTAS commenced on 16 November 1920.
