Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it April 15th? And the man who asked for the ship to go faster was Mr. Ismay and the captain was Captain Smith. Oh and I think i worded the question wrong, Mr. Ismay's COMPANY designed the ship.

We've had the debate about the date of the sinking before. Depends which time zone you use. Going by GMT The Titanic sank at 2.20 am on the morning of April 15th. But local time where it sank, off Newfoundland is 3 and a half hours behind GMT. This would put the sinking at 11.50 pm on the evening of April 14th.

The ship began her maiden voyage from Southampton, England, to New York City on April 10, 1912, with Edward Smith as its captain. On the night of April 14 she struck an iceberg. The iceberg dented the hull several times, popping the rivets along the starboard side below the waterline and flooding the first six watertight compartments. The Titanic sank at 2:20 the next morning.

Thomas Andrews, the ship's designer from Harland and Wolff, informed Captain Smith that the pumps were incapable of keeping up with the amount of water entering the vessel and would only buy them some extra time.
