Mountbatten - or Battenburg, even. The Mountbattens were originally Battenburgs (no, not cakes with marzipan on) and changed it because of war sensibilities. Back when Vicky changed her name to Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, women were more under the influence of their men folk. It was unusual for both Anne and Victoria to have Prince Consorts. Back in the days of Mary the One, Philip of Spain was actually King of England after his marriage - parliamentary documents were dated by the year of reign of Philip and Mary. (Ah, memories of A Level History!) As to Windsor not being real, yes it is. A changed name is as real as the original version. Which is why Sir Elton John isn't Sir Reginald Dwight.
