If our brain cells do not divide then how come until the age of 20-something your brain is getting bigger and from then on it is getting smaller, and how can your nervous system grow as you grow? Isn't there new evidence that neurons divide?

The answer to this is pretty easy. Adult neurons do not divide. It has to do with cell specialization. In juvenile organisms, the cells are not fully differentiated. (Specialized.) They will continue to divide and specialize throughout maturation. (And there IS new research showing that cells in the hippocampus can regenerate.)
