Maggie may be correct for the US but I'm enquiring about the UK.

Isn't the British - the Queen's Award - or something like that?

Queen's scout. In malaya it's a King's scout

That's a big Yo! Maggie.
It was the Kings Scout until QEII took the throne

In Britain it's a Queens/Kings Scout or Guide (I once as a sea ranger shook Lady Baden Powell's hand - howzatt for trivia?)

We don't have boy scouts in the UK. We used to have, but not now. They're Scouts whether girl or boy - and our Scout group is 25% female. As for RANK, the highest I am aware of is Patrol Leader. Chief Scout's Award and Queen's Scout are awards, not ranks. They confer no authority. A Scout in the UK can't get Queen's Scout, anyway, under the new system. Scouts are 10 and a half to 14 years old, then they become Explorer Scouts, and then at 18 they enter Network, which is where the Queen's Scout work gets done. Boy Scout is a term used in the USA, where they have Girl Scouts as well. My section is Cubs - highest rank there is Sixer.

Boy scouts do get older and can become Grand Scoutmaster. Therefore that must be the eventual highest rank they can achieve in scouting.

It would be unusual for a British Scout to become Grand Scoutmaster - I presume that's an American rank. In the UK, the top bod is The Chief Scout - currently George Purdy. There haven't been Scoutmasters in the UK for years - in the Scout Association, anyway. I don't know about the so-called Baden Powell Scouts (if they are still going). I have never met up with any of them and prefer not to comment further on them.
