In addition to Al 'Mr. 59' Geiberger, two other professional golfers have shot 59 in sanctioned competition. Mike Souchak did it in Texas in the late 1950's, and just recently (1998 or 1999), David Duval shot 59 in the final round of the Bob Hope tournament in Palm Springs to win.

Reported Saturday December 02, 2000 -- Gossett hits 59.
It was only the sixth 59 in PGA Tour-sanctioned competition. Al Geiberger, Chip Beck and David Duval got their scores in PGA Tour events, while Notah Begay and Doug Dunakey each had 59 on the Nike Tour.
