Can someone please settle an argument and tell me if bulls "moo" as well as cows as I have been told that bulls only roar or snort?

Question #36843. Asked by Clithers. (Jul 30 03 5:27 AM)

Yes, only cows moo, bulls snort - when cross.
It would be a little worrying to hear a bull 'moo' - in depth counselling would be required.

Apparently both sexes of calves moo either out of alarm or as a request for food. If this is the case and bulls only snort, when do their voices break?

Bulls sometimes inject as well as snort.

    Bulls also "moo"
    I've seen and heard them.

Anyway, "To err is human, to moo BOVINE!"

If you heard a mooing bull DB, then you were not looking at a bull - there is a considerable difference you know.

Bulls roar, snort or blare - the latter is a similar sound a cow makes when separated from her calf.

Perhaps I should rephrase my answer.
Bulls can make exactly the same noise as a cow.
If it happens to be given a different name, such as blaring, then so be it but it is the same sound as as a "moo".
And yes it WAS a bull.
He was actually quite excited at the time.
