It is the flesh of a living creature and as such most vegetarians won't touch it if they don't eat flesh because they don't believe in killing animals rather than not eating meat on the grounds of fat etc. I know a lot of vegetarians who do eat fish though.

I think non-meat and non-fish eaters are known as vegans. I don't think vegans eat any meat product though (milk, eggs, etc)....

AS I understand it vegetarians will eat animal products like milk and eggs but vegans consider tha texploitation of animals so they only live on things like pulses and fuit.

Vegans will not eat any animal prdouct such as dairy product and eggs. Vegetarians will eat milk and eggs, and sometimes fish. I'm sort of in between as I eat eggs, but not dairy products as I'm allergic to them.

Meat is the flesh of an animal, so technically yes - Fish is meat. However, dieticians usually give fish and meat seperate classifications. And most vegetarians don't consider fish to be the same type of food as meat.

There are all sorts of vegetarians, just as there are all sorts of meat eaters. Some meat eaters will eat ALL meat, while some may object to eating horsemeat, snakemeat, dogmeat etc.
Pisco-vegetarians will eat fish, ovo-vegetarians will eat eggs, lacto-vegetarians will eat dairy produce etc. There are also combinations like ovo-lacto-vegetarians who will eat eggs and dairy produce.
So, piscovegetarians may not consider fish to be meat, but other types of vegetarian will.
