    		Dalmatians are named after Dalmatia, (now Serbia and Croatia); Siamese are named after Siam (now Thailand); Pekinese are named after Peking (now Beijing). They're all named after places which have changed their name.

    		They are named after places in which they are not found as natives - so a peke does not come from Beijing etc.
