    Leaving aside as yet undiscovered territories, is there any island or piece of land on Earth which does not belong to any country?

    While it is claimed by various nations (some bits of it by three at once) Antarctica is not reckoned as part of anyone's territory but is administered internationally. Aside from that, someone's put a claim in on everything else - just in case oil or whatever is found near it.
