    		Just by way of a related fact, the black and white strip of the mighty Juventus is based on that of Notts County. The Italian club adopted the colours after seeing Notts County play during a trip to England in 1903.

    		The answer depends on the species of football.

    Australian Rules Football - our cousins from south of the border lay claim to the oldest professional football club in the world: Melbourne FC, formed in 1858. Geelong FC are next, formed in 1859.
