This innovative solution was employed in Germany early in the last century.
Increasing the level of currency available reduced its worth. As more and more money became available to buy the same supply of goods, prices rose and hyper-inflation set in. Before long, wheelbarrow loads of hundred mark notes were needed just to buy a loaf of bread and it was more expensive to buy a toilet roll than to, er, use the notes themselves.
