What colour belt do you buy for your outfit when beginning Judo classes?

I believe it's the same colour as the last belt (8th Dan). White is the beginners' colour and also the colour of the highest attainment belt. (I think it signifies that even when you've reached the highest level you are still a beginner/learner.) Aug 24 03, 4:47 PM

In Judo, the order is: White, Yellow, Orange, Green, Blue, Purple, Brown (three degrees), Black (ten degrees). The three degrees of brown belt are solid brown. The first five degrees of black belt are solid black. The sixth, seventh, and eighth degrees of black belt are red and white. The nineth and tenth degrees of black belt are red. However, although a seventh degree black belt has the red and white belt, it is not incorrect for him or her to wear the solid black belt because all ten degrees of black are technically black.
