Obi Wan Kennobe. The character 'Uncle' Owen was actually Kennobe's brother.
NOTES: Owen Lars is the son of farmer Cliegg Lars. He is the stepbrother of Anakin Skywalker, and the step-uncle and de-facto foster father of Luke Skywalker.
There was some confusion as to exactly what Owen's relation to Luke is. The original movie only implies that he is Luke's uncle, the brother of Luke's father. In the 1983 novelization of Return of the Jedi, Obi-Wan Kenobi refers to Owen as his brother (corroborated by the Jedi Apprentice series) - this was originally scripted, but cut out from that movie (in an interesting coincidence, Ewan McGregor's stunt double in the latter prequels is Nash Edgerton, the real-life brother of Joel Edgerton). The Phantom Menace showed that Anakin Skywalker did not have a biological brother. Finally in Attack of the Clones, Owen was revealed to be Anakin's stepbrother and therefore technically Luke's step-uncle.

Obi-Wan assists in hiding Anakin's children after Padmé dies in childbirth. Luke is put on Tatooine with Owen Lars (Joel Edgerton) so that Obi-Wan can look after him in secret, while his twin sister Leia is put on Alderaan in Bail's care.
