This portrait is also one of Van Gogh's most well known since it holds the distinction as the most expensive painting ever sold at auction. On 15 May 1990 "The Portrait of Doctor Gachet" was sold within three minutes for $82.5 million (U.S.) to Ryoei Saito, Japan's second-largest paper manufacturer.

The 2002 edition of the Guinness World Records confirms that number.

I think the Mona Lisa is more valuable, Van Gogh's got the highest bid at auction - but the Mona Lisa is too valuable to be auctioned.

The world's most valuable painting ever sold is Jackson Pollack's "No. 5 1948", which sold for $140 million on 2006 to David Martinez. The Mona Lisa is considered priceless.

What painting by the members of the Group of Seven is considered the most valuable?

I'm looking for the name of a TV mini series movie/show. We had rented them from the video store. It's about a boy who is traveling to different worlds looking for pieces of a machine to get him back home (I think.) He is gathering something along his way. He travels to different worlds with a "professor" and maybe another person. Along the way he visits 5-8 different worlds (each was a different movie.) They were all entitled "Somebody and the Land of ???" One world had to do with giant eggs, one world a town of toys, and the end was a land something like a fantasy "Camelot." My children watched these movies anywhere from 1988 - 1993. I'm hoping someone can help me end my frazzled search.

This 17th century painting is at the height of controversary over a missing body part. The original was once engraved by another artist in its mirror image. A second copy was made not long after, but inside another painting, that is, a painting within a painting. Both copies have this body part exposed, whilst the supposed original, in the London National Gallery doesn't, which has caused concerns that what they have is a fake. Which painting is it, who painted the original and what one other discrepancy appears between the copies and the 'original'?
