    Question #38396. shady shaker asks:

What do Matthew Brady, Daniel Morgan and Andrew George Scott have in common?

    Stew54

They were all bushrangers, though of the three I had only heard of Mad Dan Morgan before I checked this.

Well done Stew! Brady was active in Van Dieman's
Land (now Tasmania) in the 1820s; "Mad Dog" Morgan, supposedly the product of a costermonger and a prostitute, was notorious for shooting sleeping and unarmed men..... What a hero!!!
Andrew George Scott, popularly known as Captain Moonlite tried his hand at bushranging in 1879.
Brady and Scott were captured and hanged, while Morgan was shot dead by a Station hand.

Mad Dog Morgan was the name of a movie I remember, though not very well, so I don't know if it was any good! I think he was pushed into a life of crime by unfortunate circumstances, and he had an aboriginal "sidekick".

Do you know if that was a reasonably faithful version of his story, or "Hollywood history"?

Don't know anything of Morgan's early life, but I
suspect that a movie about him would, as you put it, be "Hollywood history". I've just read that
after his death, his head was removed and sent to
Melbourne. There it was examined in an (I assume
unsuccessful) attempt to find the reason for his
    brutality!! Best wishes, Shady.
