What is the connection between Winston Churchill, John Lennon, and William Blake?

    Question #38464. Asked by mochyn.

What's wrong with Tonypandy? Too obscure for you?

As Home Secretary in 1911, Churchill very sensibly sent soldiers to shoot striking miners in Tonypandy.

The Beatles are said to have visited Tonypandy during the height of their fame in the 60s. It was so remote that no-one recognized them.

Jerusalem Chapel in Tonypandy was a focal point of the Welsh religous revival in 1904. William Blake wrote "Jerusalem" and interestingly, the current Lord Blake has written a historical biography of Churchill.

These people are inexorably linked by Tonypandy.
