    		According to legend, it was a tailor named Tom who accidentally peeped through his window at Lady Godiva passing by on her nude ride; he was struck blind. In the 50's movie version, with Maureen O'Hara in the title role, Tom the tailor gets his eyes burnt out by a torch held by Victor McLaglan.
