    From where comes the saying "the last straw?"

    		It comes from the proverb that "it's the last straw that breaks the camel's back." The picture is of a burden that, with the addition of one final straw, becomes unbearable--thus, the last straw is the final insult, the last thing that sends a person over the edge or to the breaking point.

    		This is tied in with one of Aesop's Fables which tells the story of the straw that broke the camel's back. I don't know whether the proverb came from the Fable or the other way around.
