Wimbledon FC are to move to the National Hockey Stadium in Milton Keynes next week. Their opening game is against Burnley. The move has alienated virtually all of the (few) supporters the club had, including me.

Wimbledon are moving to MK from Selhurst Park, a ground which they shared with Division 1 rivals Crystal Palace (I have stood on the terraces, singing the obligatory "We 'ate Pa-liss and we 'ate Pal-iss"). Prior to that, Wimbledon played at Plough Lane in the borough of Merton.

Real Wimbledon fans who did not wish to support Milton Keynes United set up a new club, AFC Wimbledon, who play in the Combined Counties and are doing rather well. Their ground is in Kingston Upon Thames, although they have been looking for a suitable ground in Wimbledon.

The following couple of links provide further information on the new Dons:

Just wanted to get that off my chest.
