Who equalled a Donald Bradman batting record but declared rather than beat it?

    Question #39107. Asked by gmackematix.

    shady shaker

Mark Taylor was 334 not out at stumps in a Test
Match against Pakistan in Peshawar. That score
equalled the record for the highest Test score
made by an Australian set by Bradman at Leeds in
1930. Taylor declared Australia's innings closed
overnight, thus sharing the record with Bradman.

I'm sorry, I think that should be MARK Taylor to
differentiate him from all the other Taylors
(and Tinkers, Soldiers and Spies) who have played
    Test cricket for Australia.

He didn't declare for that reason though. He declared because he thought that the declaration couldn't be delayed any further if Australia were going to have any chance of winning the match - they didn't!.
