    Many so-called modern inventions are not modern at all but due to the destruction of a certain building much of the knowledge of the ancient Greeks and Romans have been denied to us. What was the building that was destroyed?

    In trying to find something that the Greeks have invented in the last 200 years, I only found soft ice cream, developed by Thomas Carvelas, a Greek immigrant to New York in 1934. Can anybody find some other modern Greek inventions?
