Barrie White reached number 2 on the 7th December with "You're the First, the Last, My Everything".
Yes, I'll go for that one, unless it was Mud - No,I'll stick!

According to the Guinness book of British hit singles, Barry White reached number 1 with that song on 2nd November, and Mud reached number 1 on 30th November and stayed there for four weeks. Ralph McTell was at number 2 on the 7th December according to the same book...but didn't there used to be different charts?
