Who was the last US state governor to be removed from office before finishing their term?
Question
#39378. Asked by Hamlet..

shady shaker
|
The last, and only time, a U.S. State Governor was
removed from office was in 1921 when North Dakota
residents ousted Governor Lynn Frazier. This came
about as a result of the economic depression
following WWI.

Not true. Arizona governor Even Mecham was impeached and removed from office in 1988 for obstructing justice and misusing state money. In 1997, the same thing would have happened to Arizona governor Fife Symington after he was convicted of fraud, but he resigned before he got the chance to be thrown out. Must be the hot desert air.
P.S. Hopefully, this answer will change in a few weeks when Gray Davis gets the hook.

However, Davis is not facing impeachment but the citizens of California voting to remove him. So in that sense shady shaker is correct. I apologize that my question wasn't clearer markklein199...
