    High jump: Javier Sotomayor (Cuba) - 2.45 m (1993)
    Long Jump: Mike Powell (US of A) - 8.95 m (1991)

    Yes, Harish, I know those, but they were with a run up. I asked for the STANDING jump world records.

    Greek athlete Konstantinos Tsiklitiras recorded a standing long jump length of 3.47m (just over 11'3") in 1912. The same length is also credited to America's Ray Ewry. The record stood for over 80 years and is now over 3.6 metres (over 11'8").
