Vesna Vulovic, the only person to survive from a plane (DC 9) that exploded (probably due to a terrorist bomb) at an altitude of more than 33,000 feet (6.25 miles) in January 1972. She fell in part of the wreckage of the tail section and although she was initially paralysed from the waist down, she later recovered and learned to walk again. Oct 08 03, 12:56 PM
