Well, he didn't own it. He was offered a "buy-in" by the owners of the Texas Rangers. I believe they "loaned" him the 400,000, or was it 600,000 dollars to purchase his share of the team. He became a "talking head" of sorts for the team, a front man, and when the team was sold, he collected something like 12,000,000 for all of the hard work he did. I believe that is the basis for his fortune, other than what he'll come to by inheritance. God knows, he certainly didn't earn it in his other business ventures. Oct 12 03, 9:18 PM
