    Do electric eels put enough current through their victims to cook their food and do electric eels ever stun themselves and each other?

    		I have not found any reference to an electric eel's shock cooking their prey, but a full-grown eel can produce enough electricity (600 volts) to stun a human.

    Electric eels have a thick layer of fat that acts as an insulator to protect them from their own (or other) electrical bursts.

    		As the actual electric shock would be short lived it would be like a micro waved meal. Hot on the outside but stone cold on the inside.

    		I've just had a microwaved lasagne, as it happens, SM and it was very nice. Mind you we do have a catering microwave which has twice the power of usual domestic ones.
    But I digress. I have seen an electric eel being used on BBC's "Recrd Breakers" to power a neon sign. I was just worried about what happens to ones that have an itchy nose.
