Why is it that when you are suntanning all day your body feels cold in normal room temperatures in the evening?

Question #39878. Asked by mrmagic. (Oct 15 03 3:00 AM)

    FireCrotchK

When you have been sunbaking, your skin burns and as a cooling mechanism your body sends a lot of blood to the areas to 'cool' it down. When a lot of blood is flowing near the surface of your skin, you feel cooler, hence why we sweat in summer and feel cool when a breeze blows over the skin. Your body thinks its skin is hot because of the burn in the skin and so sends blood to cool it down.
In normal conditions your body adjusts blood flow to the skin according to ambient temperature outside and so you wouldn't feel cold in a normal temperature room.

I know the temperature where I am isn't anything like it is where Qp lives, but it still feels cold here. In Celsius and Fahrenheit, you can have negative (minus) temperatures. Can you have them in the Kelvin scale? (Beware - Baloo at work...)

As well as actual temperatures we are also shown a diagram of temperature anomalies, ie the variation per year from normal. But how do they know and measure what normal is before it has actually happened? What process is used?

Why is it that after you eat something minty, your mouth feels cold and after you eat something spicy, your mouth feels hot?
