The Gaza Strip is in Israel. Palestine is not officially recognised as a separate country yet.

I thought the Gaza strip referred to Paul Gascoigne's football kit.

Bit of a grey area, I think, and therefore an excellent AFT question!
It is true that there is no country called Palestine, but (save for the sort of military incursions that get people exchanging fierce posts on the Controversial Issues forum) Israel does not exercise sovereignty in the West Bank or Gaza.
The Palestinian National Authority is responsible for sovereign issues in these places, but I'm not sure it counts as a country. However, it does have many of the trappings (ministers and the like), and it has been sufficiently recognised as a government for a few countries to have appointed ambassadors (see their website for a list - www.pna.gov.ps).
Anyone know what sort of international travel documents people have who are born there? That might be a good indication, but so far I haven't been able to find out.
