Which is larger, the African or Indian elephant?

To add my twopence-worth, fully grown African ones have bigger ears (shaped a bit like Africa) and Indian ones have smaller ears (shaped a bit like India). Also African elephants have 5 toes on each foot while Asian ones only have 4 on each back foot. The veins in an African elephant's ears are such it can lower its body temps by 15 deg C just by flapping them! Oct 23 03, 12:05 AM

African elephants are bigger than Asian Elephants.
