Why is the ocean salty?

Rocks are weathered by the rain, and the minerals are broken off and travel down streams and rivers, until they are deposited at the sea. As the salt doesn't evapourate, the sea keeps getting saltier. Nov 01 03, 1:44 PM

Aren't icebergs frozen ocean water, which are very salty? In "Blue Planet Seas of Life: The Deep Sea" they showed a pond within the sea at the bottom of the ocean and said that it was more salty in the pond, but can someone explain why it doesn't diffuse into the regular ocean water? Why can't there be salty ice? Why is the ocean blue?
