    Without getting technical, can a person's race (ethnicity, color) be detected in DNA?

    		From The American Heritage Dictionary:

    By definition, "race" can mean a group of people classified together on the basis of common history, nationality or geographic distribution. It can also mean a geaneological lineage. And by definition, the word "race" with regard to biology refers to any interbreeding, usually geographically isolated population of organisms (of any species) differing from other populations of the same species in the frequency of certain hereditary traits. By these definitions, there most certainly ARE different races within the human species.

    The mere fact that such things are evident in DNA supports these definitions. Please note these definitions in no way imply a superiority of one race over another.
