According to Amnesty International, hanging is still a legal form of capital punishment in 58 countries, including the U.S. In addition, stoning is permitted in 6 countries, beheading is okey-dokey in 3, and commit a serious crime in Sudan, and you just might be crucified! Wee!

The most recent hanging in the U.S. took place on January 25th 1996 when Billie Bailey, 46, was hanged in Delaware for murdering an elderly couple
in their farmhouse in the late 1970s. Delaware's method of execution is lethal injection but prisoners sentenced before 1986 may also be executed by hanging or lethal injection. Bailey reportedly refused to choose saying that "to ask a man how to die is more barbaric than hanging."
