One stick of this rock could of course feed a small village for a week.

Blackpool in the 1870s. The rock was made by Slater & Bullock of Dewsbury in Yorkshire (New Shell Book of Firsts).

Mochyn, shouldn't that be "chwyrn" not "chwryn" in the middle of Llanfair PG?

You know like in America you get the walking-stick shaped candy sticks? This is pink outside and white inside and about four times thicker and about 12 ins long. It is so contructed that the name of the town where it is sold is folded into the tube all the way down it.

Also, it is a solid cylinder shape rather than walking-stick shaped. Peppermint, which is bright pink on the outside with white running through the core, is the most popular flavour, although these days the range of flavours, shapes and colours is vast.

Thanks. I think we call them candy canes.
