The excellent baseball-reference.com and the venerable Total Baseball (1998 edition)list the "White Sox" as the only team name for Chicago's AL franchise. Your referenced website (which is a good one, BTW), as well as MLB.com, contend that they were called the "White Stockings" in their earliest years. I would assume that MLB.com has to be correct, so you are, in fact, right. But the Tigers are not the answer to the second question.

Actually, I'm not sure if you get any YAYS. I keep seeing conflicting information about Chicago's early name (was it White Stockings or always White Sox?). Your second answer is still wrong, even according to the website you referenced.
