    The fish - Abyssobotula galatheae - has been found in a Puerto Rican Ocean Trench 8,372 meters (over 5 miles) down!

    Fish were sighted by Piccard and Walsh at the bottom of the Marianas Trench (Challenger Deep),35 800 feet down, on 1/23/1960, aboard the bathyscaphe Trieste.
