    Macy's and 1962:

    1962 The first year the Parade featured sports champions, including Willie Mays, Otto Graham, Jack Dempsey, and Ralph Terry

    1960s Lorne Greene and Betty White host the telecast from 1962 to 1971. In 1962, Tony Bennett first appears and will return in 2001.

    DON'T RAIN ON OUR PARADE!
    The parade went on in 1962 despite the downpour, keeping intact the parade's record of never yielding to wind or weather, only to war.


    The only mention I can find of Nikita Khrushchev with Macy's is the kitchen argument with Richard Nixon in 1959.
